Air Conditioning Commissioning & Testing

Introduction to air conditioning commissioning and testing.

We provide your business with a TM44 Inspection. What is this? Since January 4th 2011, the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive  (EPBD) has required the TM44 regulations inspection of air conditioning systems in buildings with a cooling capacity over 12kW

A TM44 inspection, or survey, is an assessment a buildings air conditioning systems. Their primary purpose was to help businesses improve the efficiency of their buildings. More specifically, reducing energy consumption, carbon emissions and operating costs associated with their AC system.

They are required for all buildings where the air conditioning systems combined output is equal to 12kW or more.

The TM44 Inspection is a legal requirement.

It must be completed by an independent, accredited assessor and a copy of the certificate should be kept on site.

Compliance with the regulation is enforced by local trading standards authorities. Failure to produce a valid certificate upon request is an offence that could result in monetary fines. These are repeatable until an inspection has taken place and a valid certificate is issued.

Why choose Hylev for your TM44 Inspection?

The Hylev TM44 survey ensures your premises are compliant with UK law and EPBD legislation. Moreover, a TM44 survey can be an extremely effective way of identifying areas of energy inefficiency in your air conditioning system.

Our bespoke recommendation reports accompany every TM44 inspection. These contain detailed advisory information which highlights ways to reduce your carbon footprint and improve your bottom line.

We will first liaise with you to assess your needs, ensuring your system meets the criteria for a TM44 inspection. From there, we will organize one of our accredited assessors to visit your site at a time most convenient for you.

What happens on the day of the TM44 Inspection?

Upon arrival our assessor will perform a visual survey of your premises and air conditioning equipment. They will visually inspect your air conditioning system and accompanying documentation, including your F-gas register. The assessor will also identify how the system is used and analyse the building layout. This helps to determine how suitable the system is for its environment.

What happens after the TM44 Inspection is completed?

The assessor will collate the data and develop a bespoke recommendation report. The report will include details of all the assessor’s findings and an extensive summary of their recommendations.

These recommendations highlight changes you can make in order to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and operational costs.

We will then forward draft copies to you for your approval. Once you are happy, we will lodge the certificate on the National landmark register.

The certificate is valid for 5 years from the date of issue. We also offer a complimentary reminder service to help ensure you are always compliant.
